Culinary Highlights

Wining & Dining

An otter swims up to the dining room windows with her baby on her belly, getting everyone out of their seats (we’ve all done it). It’s no easy feat to prepare and serve dishes that consistently garner praise. There are special needs to be met, varying availability of ingredients, and there’s always potential for those unexpected dining guests.

Every meal is handcrafted by our executive chefs to ensure innovative, nutritious, and delectable dining experiences that highlight flavors of the region.

What to expect:

  • Sunday champagne brunch

  • Early-riser breakfasts of fresh fruit and baked-on-board pastries

  • Full breakfasts with hot and cold options and specialty items

  • Lunches range from salads, sandwiches, and homemade soups to regionally-influenced dishes

  • Dinners offer a choice of entrees including fresh local seafood, meats and vegetarian options

  • Delicious dessert buffet

  • Chef-selected wine pairings that complement your meal

  • Made-from-scratch desserts like tiramisu and lavender panna cotta

  • Cocktail tasting session with varied hors d’oeuvres

  • Vegetarian dishes are available at all meals

  • Special dietary needs can be met with advance notice

Unless there’s a special barbecue or lunch on shore, most dinners are served over several courses. Attention is always paid to your personal preferences. The dining experience is casual. And seating is open so you can join new friends and choose a different table at every meal.

Celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or other occasion? Let us know when you book your cabin. Our expert pastry chef will whip up a surprise treat to make it memorable.

What's on the menu

Early morning sees a passing of the torch. The pastry chef has baked through the wee hours of the morning. And after dawn, head chef and sous chefs prepare the hot-from-the-stove portions of the meal. Masters of improvisation, menus may alter. Talk of local chilies might spark inspiration. Perhaps there’s even a special request to celebrate an occasion.

Your galley crew is attentive to ingredients. They also pay close attention to how food options meld with the activities and conditions of the day. Cool cevíche makes a refreshing palate-pleaser in tropical climes. At mealtimes, there are vegetarian, meat, or fish options to choose from. And if you can’t decide, try a sampling—just ask for half-and-half!

Selections vary by vessel and season.

Activity Highlights

Onboard Safari Explorer, you will have access to visit the bridge and chat up your captain and the crews at any time. A sunrise yoga stretches and the stargazing from the bow will be a great way to start and end a day. Guided and free-time kayaking excursions, paddle boarding in protected coves, snorkeling among marine life and colorful reefs are among the many in the water activities you can choose from. On shore, you can participate in the guided hikes or leisurely combing the beach for tide pool “treasures”, or you can pay visits to quaint towns and native villages and have a cultural experience and exchange with locals.

Snorkeling with the majestic Giant Pacific Manta rays and watching them soar just below the ship is always the highlight of the trip onboard Safari Explorer in Hawaii for many of our guests.

WOW! This is all we can say.  Cruising onboard the 18-cabin Safari Explorer, guests receive a special treatment of watching and swimming with the harmless Manta Rays on this special chartered Oahu Roundtrip Hawaiian Adventure Cruise.

One week, four islands and a whole lot of Aloha on a small ship adventure cruise onboard Safari Explorer in the islands of Hawaii.

In a lush hidden valley that spills out into the Pacific Ocean, you found Pilipo and Greg Solatorio at the end of the road. This is the story of a father and son and their traditional life in one of the most historically significant settlements in the Hawaiian islands.

A warm Aloha spirit gives you a sense of Hawaii long ago. No stop lights, no high-rises, just a welcome slower pace. “Talk story” with locals and experience their land and traditions as few visitors do. You will immerse yourself in aloha, and receive the island experience afresh.

Come and experience the different energy and gravitation each Hawaiian Islands will give you. Every moment of your journey, from the people and their culture to food, the land and sea – it is an adventure unlike any other.  Come, to Hawaii!
